Meet Alison: Owner and Therapist

About

With over 25 years' experience in rehabilitation and complex care, my work is grounded in both clinical expertise and a deeply human approach to support.

My career began in Sheffield as a Dental Nurse, later expanding into oral health, TMJ work and radiography. Building on this foundation, there was a natural progression into Anatomy, Physiology, and Massage Therapy - opening the door to a career in major trauma rehabilitation in 2003.

Over time, my work with complex cases led me to further my training and achieving a qualification in “Recognising and Responding to Psychological Trauma”  and  “Understanding Traumatised Children” - something that continues to shape the way that I support every individual.

A Thoughtful, Whole -Person Approach

I work with people at many different stages of their journey - from those managing everyday discomfort to individuals recovering from life - changing events/injury and illness.

My experience includes supporting complex conditions such as amputation, brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke and polytrauma. Alongside working with elite athletes and performers, including GB Para -Olympic athletes - supporting the team worldwide.

I now offer a sensitive service for people who are recovering from previous sexual abuse -  I hold Survivor Ally Certification, and you can be assured that your needs will be met with the greatest sensitivity.

While the settings may differ greatly, my approach remains the same: calm, considerate and focused on helping each person function and live as well as possible.

Complex Care and Advocacy

Alongside clinical practice, I offer specialist support in complex care coordination.

I am partnered with legal services in post injury rehabilitation. I have extensive experience in working with individuals with limited capacity. I offer clear guidance to navigating care and rehab packages. I have experience in navigating SEND law, NHS continuing healthcare and disability advocacy. I understand how overwhelming these systems can feel and I am happy to support families on this journey.

How I work

My work is trauma informed, compassionate, and grounded in respect.

I support both adults and children, always with focus on dignity, safety and trust. I am fully insured, hold registration with the CNHC and I hold an enhanced rolling DBS, with a Level 3 safeguarding certification. I place great importance on creating environments where people feel genuinely safe and supported.

Key areas of expertise:

  • Rehabilitation & Therapy: Musculoskeletal issues, SCI, TBI, Stroke, PDOC
  • Elite Athlete & Performer Support: Injury prevention and rehabilitation
  • Disability & SEND Advocacy: Navigating health and education law
  • Complex Care & Budget Management: Multi-agency coordination, NHS Continuing Healthcare

Exciting News!

After much research and preparation, our beautiful therapy dog has officially joined the team! We are now proud to offer support services and animal-assisted therapy.
